The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows

by Tammie   Jun 10, 2009

With a smile in my window and words stacked up neat,
I press lips upon mirrors with the world at my feet.
Fading letters and numbers on postcards unsent,
Pictures with landscapes crossed with intent.

Disregard my ocean, it fails to evaporate,
Much like an ego that refuses to deflate,
Pressed hard for empty pages, books filled with memories,
I falter between the line of friends and enemies.

Slip your thoughts in my mouth, your love in my head,
But never forget all of those things you once said,
I won't let them go for as long as I can't hold you,
Because that's all I have left to cling solemnly too.

"I falter between the line of friends and enemies."
Sounds like you're writing about E and I.

I like this, Tamara, good work.

Only one thing I want you to know: try and expand your vocab with metaphors or something a little more. Solemnly isn't that great of a word.
And typo in your last line "too" to "to".

Sorry to seem so negative. Keep writing!
