A Haunting Past

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 13, 2009

Innocent victims faced with,
A fate they don't deserve.
Brought into this life,
Only to be rejected.

Weeping angels pray,
Mothers ask forgiveness.
Evil has been unleashed,
Nightmares have awoken.

Guilt sweeps over women,
Who agreed to the choice.
It can't be taken back,
The past is remembered

    "Innocent victims faced with,

`This was such a true statement, from the start the reader can infer what youre talking about - abortion. These babies that are rejected are indeed innocent victims with a fate they dont deserve.

    "Guilt sweeps over women,
    Who agreed to the choice.
    It can't be taken back,
    The past is remembered"
`Of course the choice to have an abortion causes women to be full of guilt, wishing they didnt make the choice they did; they know they cant take it back and the past and their choice will never be forgotten.

    Sad write definatly.
You write very strongly on this topic as always.

    MaryAnne,

I have some strong thoughts on this matter too. I believe a soul choses his parents in an active way long before birth and is an active force in bringing those two souls together to suit his needs. I think the essence of the soul and the genes passed on in the body it is yet to occupy creates a surrounding in which the soul can grow spiritually.

One can only imagine the hurt it must feel when the people it has chosen refuse to have him/ her.....

Good work on the poem, if it reaches just one pregnant woman and makes her think, it will have been worth it, don't you think?

    *hugs*
