Loving to Love

I wanted to be done forever
I wanted to say my last goodbye
But you came running back
So we gave love another try

Oh how ignorant we were
Loving for the sake of love
The waves crashed around us
We fought to stay above

Little did we know
We drowned long ago
We fight for nothing
I can't let go

My eyes are filled with tears
For a girl that took my heart
My heart is filled with sorrow
From the one I must depart

I'm left stranded and alone
Calling your name into the abyss
Wondering why you push me out
Regretting our every kiss

Love hurts in ways that can't be explained
A pain that is more than skin deep
No solace can be found
Not even in our sleep

I used to pray for your love
Now I pray only to forget you
Love was too much for me
I bit off more than I could chew

I'll leave this poem
Like I left the last one
I say goodbye
Knowing it's only begun

    Wow, this is filled with wonderful emotion. I am so sorry that you feel/ felt this way.

    The flow was excellent, you have imagery in a few places which helps keep the poem interesting. Your word choice really is immaculate. The thought of the poem really grasps the reader and makes them long to get to the end. To start a poem the way you did here is a magnificent thing to do, because it lures the reader in (awesome job.) You have taken such a common subject, which is relevant to almost everyone at some point in their life and you have written it in a way so that it stays in the audience's memory. the end is strong and meaningful, I think you have done an amazing job. I personally love this piece, though I have not been through my share of heart break, yet.

    If this is how you feel then P.G. is an extremely special person in this world. For only a special few truely know what its like to be loved. Anyway I am done blabbing, sorry to take so much time. 5/5
