A picture made of words

by jarrod   Jul 15, 2009

A picture made of words
Blue and white hot
Telling a story
Legible if sought

Could you read it
Sitting all day
Piece the rhyme
And bear the price to pay

Patience is key
A honest soul the more
So don't pretend a lie
When you're not who's for

Care to listen
Knowledge will ensue
The art is all
Will it be you?

Good poetry is just that a picture in words. Your title caught my eye, the words held my interest. Very enjoyable

I feel that all your saying is that not all writing is meant to be understood by all people(were that it were). That if one takes the time to read a write with patience and understanding then knowledge of a type will ensue even if it is solely the recognition of the art form.

    "A picture made of words
    Blue and white hot
    Telling a story
    Legible if sought"

“A picture made of words” of course would be the imagery that many readers of poetry enjoy

    "Telling a story"
Legible if sought in my opinion would be the open mindedness of the reader, and how much freedom they decide to allow the poet in terms of freedoms such as poetic license, colloquial wording raging from accepted wording to slang not necessarily strict structuring as in formal English grammar

    "Could you read it
    Sitting all day
    Piece the rhyme
And bear the price to pay"

To bear the price is feeling the emotion of the author or at least exploring every angle
    of his communication skills

    "Patience is key
    A honest soul the more
    So don't pretend a lie
    When you're not who's for"

one could use an honest soul the more

"When you're not who's for" is not incorrect grammar yet a would find it easier to understand if the line was
When you're not who its for

    "Care to listen
    Knowledge will ensue
    The art is all
    Will it be you?"

Care to listen? could be taken as an interrogative
"Knowledge will ensue." is a proclamation
One could add luster by making
    The art is all!

    Will it be you?

I think connecting these sentences should not be difficult for deep thinkers.
