Early This Year ((Part II))

by Diane   Jul 21, 2009

The half of my heart still left beating
Now consumed with heartache so true
Today was destroyed in the process
Of finding a new love for you

As I'm left here alone and abandoned
In a world full of deception and lies
Fooled by the one that I trusted
Who was not even touched by my cries

When I look back on all that has happened
The one thing that stands out in my mind
You did not lift a hand to protect me
You chose HER you did not waste no time

My heart must not mean nothing to you
Did not shelter or shield it from harm
You joined in the stomping and breaking
Let HER think that MY thinking was wrong

From now on I will live life without you
Piece together what's left of my heart
Thousands of tiny glass pieces
That you brutally kicked on the ground

One day these words you'll remember
As you sit alone in your old age
You'll remember the woman who loved you
You'll remember the pain on her face

In the future your heart will beat slower
And will break like mine in two halves
One half will be buried with you
The other will return to the past

That is when I will come back to claim you
Take back what was rightfully mine
I will carry both pieces together
We'll leave the world and it's hurting behind

When we finally reach our destination
Find a place with no sickness and pain
She will help us to put it all past us
There we'll stay for the time that remains
