Twelve Red Roses

by Diane   Jul 21, 2009

You sent twelve red roses
It was such a surprise
No other man had ever done this
You brought tears to my eyes

The card stuffed among them
I still carry with me
Claimed much love and devotion
And then signed, "Love, Rudy"

I kept these twelve roses
For alone a dream I carried
I would crush them and hold them
Down the aisle when we were married

Now this will not ever happen
This I now know for sure
You have proven to me
That your love was not true

Like the petals of this rose
Forever sealed with this letter
I will be yours forever
For the worst or the better

My love will go with you
For it will never die
Like these petal preserved
Will live on through time
