My Turn

by Diane   Jul 21, 2009

I know you're mine during the week
It still is hard to take it
That Friday nights are spent with her
On Saturday I'll fake it

I will pretend that it's OK
A smile you will see
I'll hide the tears and shake these fears
You'll see a stronger me

For one fine day you'll realize
That a mistake was made
For me you will come looking for
Yet it might be too late

You told me that you loved me
That you would soon be free
You said that you weren't happy
You'd rather be with me

If I was in a messed up place
That I did not want to be
I would not stay for nobody
I think much more of me

On Saturdays when it's my turn
I have to wait till night
I hear you talk to HER so sweet
So not to cause a fight

My time with you is drawing near
You were so far but now you're here
I will enjoy the night we'll share
At dawn you'll leave without a care

If this is love or so you say
It would not hurt, why do you play?
My broken heart can't take much more
When you're with her pain to the core

Don't know what else I've left to say; to make you stay
I wish you would just go away
So I can mend, So I can heal
So I can breath, So I can feel

I've waited for you far too long
I should have left when I found out
That you're in love with someone else
Don't tell me NO it does not help
