My Winter Love

by Just Sierra   Jul 31, 2009

Soft wind whips knots into my long hair
I can hear a voice whisper over there
Alone I stand in the graveyard center
You beckon me, my love, you're winter

Spells and secret words were spoken
Your strength over me forever unbroken
I gave you my heart in false pretenses
You used your magic to dull my senses

Snow covers the graves, a sweet friend
It comes once a year, but this is the end.
Since last snowfall when you said goodbye
Heartbroken and wasted, every night I cry.

Could I reason with the god of cruelty, of winter
To release my soul now in the graveyard center
To pardon those nights spent in desperate weeping?
If you love me, release me to my grave, my sleeping.

He steps forward from the woods into the clearing
My whole body tenses as his presence is searing
He whispers soothing words, but his touch is how I survive
I crave that morphine touch; it makes me feel alive

He pulls me into his arms, my love and savior
His candy hard lips are my favorite flavor
Mr. Winter your touch is so icy that its fire
I'm your favorite toy, and you're my dark desire

As beautiful as you are to me, my angel, my dear
I know it's about time for you to disappear.
The snow is melting, the trees are dancing
Another night passed of forbidden romancing

You kiss me sweetly, carry me close in your chest
I long to stay with you, evading the eternal rest
But as you survive in winter, and I'm already dead
A fish and bird cannot love, so I guess I'll wait instead.
