Your Mother

by Dacey Flame   Aug 4, 2009

When I knew your mother;
And you were only a broken bit
She had a beautiful smile
And a laugh like the sky
Two bean poles for legs
Arms always reaching to help
She was tiny and all her own
With a story for everything
Set on doing the best she could
And spotlessly photogenic
The day she told us about you
You, the yield light to her green car
Feels like last week, but I don't
Want to forget the excitement
Watching her grow and the idea of
You grow on her
You've got pretty genes, and
We're all here to see you live
