Betrayal in Conceit

by James   Aug 15, 2009

Betrayed by own brethren, enduring this nightmare.
Fumes like a broken engine, pursuing parched air.
Blazing sparks lick nature's attraction,
Molding a new blood lusting faction.

Feet numb with exhaustion, bleeding with fear;
Death cackling in torment upon my ear.
Prey to the wicked; my fallen allies,
"I've had ENOUGH!" My sanity cries.

Reaching for the crystals cascading in water
Pleading to the waves, having nothing to offer.
All I have are dreading sorrow-filled memories.
Shattered shell; Fatal friendships; dug in cemeteries.

Alas! A new hope, I've struck home.
But the battle's lost, I'm left (alone)
Trickles of remorse plunge in a moan.
A six foot hero has rescued my soul.
A tragedy saved, with vanity in toll.
