Don't Tell Me It's Over

by Inside the Liar   Sep 8, 2009

I'm not hearing the
goodbye
that you swear is on your
lips.
Though I'm sure
it'll present itself
soon enough.

And when you wrap
your arms around me,
there's no sense
of finality.
Maybe you should learn
to break it off better.
If that's what you really want.

When your lips
touch down on mine,
there's no bittersweet
taste; no signs
that this will be the last time
we kiss.

So don't tell me goodbye
if you're going to stick around.
Don't tell me you're leaving
just to show up at my door.
And don't tell me it's over
if you can't follow through.
