Unnatural disaster

by Midnight Sun   Sep 16, 2009

Lightning flashes, dancing across the blackened sky
My heart turning even darker with the incoming storm
As rain pours down from the clouds in my eyes
My heart crashes like thunder..and heart-break is born

A wild-fire is bellowing from the splintered forest
Flames begin enveloping my tortured soul
My love for you is singed as it is slowly evaporating
And it's smothered and buried by ash and coal

My rage is boiling inside of me, ready to explode
This volcanic feeling is slowly over-taking me
Now my anger for you has made me go blind
So the seething destruction I cause I cannot see

The fierce wind whips at my heart mercilessly
This savage tornado whirling around my weakened mind
You dizzy me, casting me aside so cruelly
I pray you drop me and leave me behind

So now I lay on the frozen ground
Waiting for this blizzard to cease
You have made my heart unfeeling and cold
Never again can I truly feel at peace

This is an amazing piece, I wish I had found it a while back because I could not only say it is beautiful even with the darkness within but it is also something I feel I could relate to in a way. Anyway, I agree that the imagery is great and they style was a unique twist on something so common. Awesome piece :)

Hey this is the best peice of poetry I have read all week! You did an amazing job with the imagery eh. I loved how you compared your pain with that of a storm. It was so dark and so emotional, it said so much. Beautifully written 5/5
