In The Words

by BornAgainWriter   Sep 18, 2009

The lights fade like the sweet sunset,
I gain my confidence and walk out-
Onto the stage she stood before me,
The one who was my hero, favorite.

Snappin' my fingers; tappin' my foot,
Feeling the smoothness of the beat,
Shakin' my head- I'm comfortably ok,
The lights rise like the beautiful sunrise.

You'll never ever see me fall apart,
In the words of a broken girl- I say,
It's just the emotions takin' over,
I have nobody left in the world to hold.

I take a breath to calm my nerves,
Before I force my voice into the Mic,
Rockin' from left to right- standin' here,
My eyes clothes and I start up again.

Imagine me there, standin' at your side,
Imagine me being your shining star,
I feel the tears on my pillow- fallin',
I'm caught up in sorrow, lost in poetry.

You'll never ever see me fall apart,
In the words of a broken girl- I say,
It's just the emotions takin' over,
I have nobody left in the world to hold.

You use to open the door for me,
Watch me take footsteps inside,
And instead where are you now?
Now that I need you, here with me.

I take another breath before I start-
Reaching to the highest point I can,
Singing my broken heart out onto-
This stage, where ever you go;

Cry me a river...

You'll never ever see me fall apart,
In the words of a broken girl- I say,
It's just the emotions takin' over,
I have nobody left in the world to hold.
