The songs of darkness and light pt2

by Rocky   Sep 20, 2009

To sleep within the night

As the sun drowns
Beneath the ocean
And darkness enfolds the day
Withing its arms of night
The wind sings
A song of sadness
Such a cold and desolate tune
A lamentation for ones lost
Beyond this vast ocean of blue
And I find
My bitter tears run ceaseless
They carry my hopes
Into the sea
I guess it was
That day I left
When I trapped
this sorrow within me

For two many years
I have wandered
these dark shores alone
A king of broken promises
Sitting upon bereavements throne
Watching all my precious dreams
Into nothingness erode
Like children's castles
That are built of sand
Time has now washed away
Every trace
Of where they once did stand
Leaving me only my memories
But my memories
Only leave me sad
They haunt my mind
With ghosts of yesterday
Of a time
When I once held someones hand
Knelt
And read the words of the soul
In the form of a poem
But that yesterday has now died
a million years ago

Blindly
I am searching for a purpose
Within the emptiness
When I hear a voice
As it calls my name
From across the sea
It has come to speak to me
Once again
to confront me with my loneliness
Torment me with dreams
Of what could have been
And even though
This voice is so precious
It is still so hard
To find any words to say
As of all i can think
Is that last
sad look In dark eyes
Wondering why I wouldn't stay

For so long
This sadness has been
My only companion
It has twisted my thoughts
To create a sickness in me
A fever that burns
Within my mind
It screams in rage
"You will never know peace
While she still lives inside"
So tonight
As i loose all control
It is murder
upon my mind
There is no forgiveness
Within my eyes
Only this insanity that burns
Me alive

As the insanity clears
From behind my eyes
to a nightmare i awake
Where within my arms
she lies
Deathly still
Cold and white
and as i scream to the heavens
i scream to the night
with these hopeless tears
that Burn my eyes
then ever so gently
I kiss her lips
For the first time
For the last
Before i turn to flee
Into the dreamless dark
to wear my crown of the dead
I had so dearly won
my last words i whisper
"Oh my sweetest friend
What have i done"

This is absolutely touching. One of the best poem i red so far in weeks...
The images your creates are so vivid, as if i'm watching a film and it captures all my concentrations. I am eager to read the second and third part. Very well done. I love it 5/5, kel.

Your adjectifs were really well-put. They showed a lot of depth and imagery. I could honestly see myself in that situation, even having never experienced it.

You did a good job, it flowed well
