Sibyllene

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 6, 2009

The prophet sees into a sea every now and then
The Kingdom of God shall come upon good Men
Sibyllene is too tactile for her own good
A bit of a mystery not easily understood

Her charm is soothing but her love speaks louder
She likes the smells of mint and gunpowder
The astologers from the east with frankincense and myrr
Searched for the divine peace that would be revealed to her

Though strong men have fallen in her path with desire
She knows He shall burn the great Strength of Men by Fire
As she looks into her mirror nothing but beauty gazes back
Peace and justice reign where no shadow makes heaven black

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely beautiful. Well written, touching. My favorite stanza

"Though strong men have fallen in her path with desire
She knows He shall burn the great Strength of Men by Fire
As she looks into her mirror nothing but beauty gazes back
Peace and justice reign where no shadow makes heaven black ". This is absolutely well written and of course it inspired me to write. I admire your work. No wonder why you are among my favorites few poets. Well done 5/5, kel.
