Carried on the wind

by Beauty In The Breaking   Nov 7, 2009

Another cold sunset,
another day come to an end,
as the sky darkens to black
and the stars start to shine
I take a breath of the wind.

The midnight city
spread out beneath me
and yet the beauty is lost on me
as my vision is fogged by tears
that I'm trying not to shed.

As the wind plays through my hair
I close my eyes
and wish that I was seeing you,
in every person that I meet
I'm always seeing you.

I whisper quietly "I love you
and that I miss you very much"
and ask the wind to carry it
to wherever you are tonight.
