End of the Road

by Kurt   Dec 8, 2009

Life is so simply complicated
Souls, bodies, minds; all mashed into one
Separate ideals yet related

Grasp at the daylight, reach for the sun
Smile brightly to begin each day
Socialize with friends, speak out for fun

Care for strangers, console their dismay
Thank for laughter, and kindness bestowed
Appreciate the people who stay

Remember the gratitude you owed
Knowledge is power, so study well
Pass the test at the end of the road

I just reread this poem and I still got the same feeling... I love it! It's filled with inspiration and joy... It makes me want to enjoy life even more, even when I'm doing simple things people usually don't think twice about. Wonderful write!

    - The first line is a wonderful opener! "simply complicated", so well put. I believe I have a quote like that. :)

Grasp at the daylight, reach for the sun
Smile brightly to begin each day
Socialize with friends, speak out for fun

    - You paint a very happy picture here. It reminds me of the summer.

Care for strangers, console their dismay
Thank for laughter, and kindness bestowed
    Appreciate the people who stay

-"Appreciate the people who stay"; that's my favorite line.

    Remember the gratitude you owed
Knowledge is power, so study well
Pass the test at the end of the road

    - These ending lines are great! I love your choice of words!

"Pass the test at the end of the road"
I like how the ending has the word "end" at it. It's like your poem was a real life time, someone whith experience, who is now passing on the lesson.

    Wonderful write! 5/5
