Whimper Of Sorrow

I am in my eyes
I am in my ears

I am in this cancer
This cancer of grief

I am in my eyes
One split to none
And one lit alone
And unlit to sun

I am in my eyes
One peering high
And one rearing low
Over the sky

I am in my eyes
One rolling down
One falling up
And one lacking for rains
And parched to sup

I am in my eyes
I am in my ears

I am in my ears
One word unsaid
One voice and one sound
Both unwed

I am in my ears
A story untold
An unwritten plot
In books unsold

I am in my ears
One whisper of core
Another whimper of death
And one no more
