The Wonders of Christmas Time

by Beauty In The Breaking   Dec 14, 2009

The air is getting colder
with a bite now in the wind
as the snow comes down in flurries
and Christmas carols are played everywhere,
Christmas time is in the air.

Glittering happy twinkle lights
shining everywhere,
Christmas trees and wreaths,
children's sparkling eyes
counting down the days.

There's warmth in the air despite the chill,
strangers no longer strangers
as they pass friendly greetings on the street,
the smell of peppermint
and home baking in the air.

Seeing joy everywhere,
radiating from every face
as they think of going home,
it's the most romantic season,
you can almost see the love shining.

It's the most wonderful time of the year,
my favorite by far,
hearing people laughing,
they remember what caring is
and get caught up in the feelings.

Candycane's and snowmen,
the tinkling of bells,
candles burning brightly
welcoming people home
as they travel far and near.

Nutcrackers and Santa Clause,
stealing kisses beneath the mistletoe,
lights reflecting off the silver ornaments,
frosty designs on the windowpanes,
the wonders of Christmas time.
