October 12th 1971 - The Day

Can you guess what the topic of this write is ?
Except members of R.T.V.W who already know.

October 12th

A single seed planted
into the soil
dark and rich.
Days ...
Weeks ...
Months ...
loving hands caress
the growing swell.

Floating gently
in a sea of nutrients.
Each slight ripple
closer ... closer
toward the light.
Thunderous screams -echo-

Shush please it hurts ...

The sea becomes frantic,
ripples transform to waves.
Odd sensation rush the head.
- Cold, so very cold -
I suckle my thumb,
I am scared!

Suddenly the waves break
and all is calm.
Hollow darkness slowly transpires
into vast rays of light.
Oh how it hurts these eyes
-squints-

Everything is so bright, white
and sterile.
Please put me back in the shadows
-it's peaceful there-

I guess the historic event isnt clicking for me, but what a unique poem. Makes the reader wonder even more what youre talking about. Your descriptions were wonderful & provide the reader with more hints as to what the event is. Awesome job.
