You'll pray.

by Never Shall I Break   Jan 3, 2010

Sometimes, I swear I see the roses bleed
Swear I hear the willows cry
Sometimes when Ive been brought down to my knees
I witness the death of a hundred butterflies

Life, it can break you
Bring bitter tears to your eyes
But did it cut the roses?
Did it hurt the willows?
Did it poison the butterflies?

And youll pray, to some god up above
That hell fill youre life with love
That youll live to see another day
As the cancer seeps through your veins
That if you just shut your eyes tight
He wont come in your room tonight
And when all of it comes crashing down
Youll ask yourself,
Where was god?

And youll bow your head
As you kneel by your bed
Whispering the plea of the broken
It might as well have gone unspoken
Cause it doesnt matter what you say
But I know youll say it anyways

Youll pray, to some god up above
That one day youll find true love
That therell be better days
And those scars, let them fade
And if you just shut your eyes tight
Maybe they wont fight
And when it all comes crashing down
Youll ask yourself,
Where was god?

Where was he, when I had lost myself?
Where was he, when I was gone?
Where was he? Where is he?
Cause I just cant move on

Ive prayed, to some god up above
And I aint got no love
The cancers still in her veins
And those scars will never fade
And when I close my eyes
I see the truth in these lies
Dont tell me Im living in sin
Dont tell me to obey that which does not exist

And Im sick of praying, to an empty sky above
Thats never shown me any love
And Hes never had anything to say
When Ive cried his name
I dont see any lights
I dont believe in signs
I watched his life fade from within
Dont tell me what to believe in
