    Rachel
It broke my heart to read this. These feelings are ones I would have never wished for you to experience. You aren't that little girl anymore who I use to protect from everything. God how I wish I could.

    I never believed in ghosts
    But I felt your touch
    It was undeniable
    Did you feel my regret?

The entire piece is full of such sad emotions. These lines really grabbed my heart. You did a awesome job on this poem.
    I love you

    Prisoner of my own mind

^^ Excellent two lines right there..simple, descriptive and pretty powerful I must say.

    I never believed in ghosts
    But I felt your touch
    It was undeniable
    Did you feel my regret?

^^ I can't explain how much I loved this stanza. Not only did I love "I never believed in ghosts" but I love how you asked if he could feel you regret..usually when one describes a ghost they say they felt it touch a body part, but you twisted it and asked the ghost if it could feel what your feeling..that was just incredible....I dont know why, but I loved this poem!

Love the tittle and the begining is wonderful and pushes you to read some more... the new thing in your poem, which makes it original is the that the last line is a question, sort of like a mind dialog or reflection on what is going on... kept me on the tip of my heartache all along... good job!

Thank you all for your nice comments. This poem is dedicated to Bryant Eddie Ortiz the father of 2 of my beautiful children who was murdered on September 21st 2009. They have yet to find the killer.......

The saying is true.....you don't know what you've got until it's gone.

Cherish each day and make the most of it. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.Follow your heart and forget the rest.....you only have one life make sure you don't have to live it with regret...

Rachel, First of all congrats on the win.

This poem was obviously very personal and I'm sure one you hold deeply to your heart. I canno't even begin to express the emotion I felt whilst reading. I felt the ache behind each line and I truely admire your heart for writing such a beautifully penned piece.

    I never believed in ghosts
    But I felt your touch
    It was undeniable
    Did you feel my regret?

The stanza above touched my heart. To me I felt a really close connection and bond. This poem was definitly one of the most powerful I have read by you..

An elegantly penned write by you. I hope this year gets a little better for you and your children each day.
