Punish the Innocent

by Laloser05   Jan 18, 2010

Fight my own little war,
In a private room inside my head.
Your face a constant picture,
And forever truth inside my bed.

Give it time, I say,
Because I'm sure its just a phase.
But those three words,
Have become a useless phrase.

Immunity from pain is impossible,
But its possible to pretend.
I'll walk as I always do,
with thoughts you cannot comprehend

I'm guilty of nothing,
Yet punishment is required.
And I'm honest now babe,
I am just too tired.

You're exactly what I needed,
You came the perfect time.
And I know I'll always love you,
Even if you're not mine.
