Stronger Than Any Tyrant

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Jan 20, 2010

You can hit me,
You can chain me to endless slavery.
But you cannot defeat my soul,
It will continue to display bravery.

You can make me cry,
For an hour or two.
But eventually my face will smile,
I won't ruin my mood for you.

As long as i can breathe,
As long as i can walk,
Yes, i will keep on smiling,
And I'll be immune to shocks.

I haven't lost my sense of humor,
And i laugh during the darkest of days.
Those who want to find happiness within the bad times,
Can find it through many ways.

I have strong faith in the Lord,
No, you will not defeat my soul.
It is stronger than any tyrant i could face,
And i will reach my goal.

I just wanted to let you know,
Good luck in trying to ruin me inside.
I'm a boat that's been hit by hard waves,
But still roams the ocean wide.

I am like a ball,
The harder you thrust, the higher I'll bounce.
I'll keep on fighting and persevering,
Failure is a word i will not pronounce.

So you can try to destroy me,
I might bend but i will not break.
One sweet day you will come to realize,
That messing with me was a big mistake.

And i have strong faith in the Lord,
No, you will not defeat my soul.
It is stronger than any tyrant i could face,
And i will reach my goal.

* If they beat your soul, then they've won.
