Mushroom Umbrella

Mushroom Umbrella

hidden deep within the forest
a colorful world exists
where bumblebees; butterflies
and the miniature fairy live

sunlight shimmers through the trees
warming the mossy floor
illuminating the way
as the wee fairy soars

eyes of blue and purple wings
she dances among the blooms
giggling as the melodic scent
tickles her button nose

daylight expires as the moon rises
covering the forest in darkness
the greenest dragon flies high above
searching for his maiden

eyes intensely bright
flames flow from his snout
seeking for evidence
of his maiden down below

she looks up toward the sky
to the echo of flapping wings
sprinkles a fairy dust trail
to guide his way in

fairy greets her dragon
as he lands with awkward grace
sits herself upon his shoulder
so she could see his face

gliding through the forest
to a secret hiding place
under the mushroom umbrella
where they'll spend their days

    ANG! OMG hahaha this made me smile! This was so magical, and child like! I loved it! You can pen just about anything and make a great piece of poetry out of it can't you? I agree with Robie! The title first made me think wtf? lol then as I was reading, I was like where is this going??..and I absolutely loved where you went with it! You're an awesome poet! You've been on my favorites since I started this site 6 years ago!
