Concrete runs throughout my veins

by Fran   Feb 28, 2010

Concrete runs throughout my veins,
Barbed wire tears my soul,
My tears fall like heavy rain,
Lost within this deep dark hole.

Questions, questions going around,
Though no answers are at hand,
The ticking clock the only sound,
I stumble across shifting sands.

This my sentence for that terrible crime,
The woman who loved too much,
Who dreams of open and more gentle times,
Desiring the warmth of the human touch.

Good job on this piece. Your sadness can be felt in your words. Sometimes love can be very painful.
    Take care
