Cooking Again

by Larry Chamberlin   Mar 7, 2010

Cooking again, it pleases me,
Perhaps even more than those
Who benefit by the feast
I invariably table.

Stirring the pot, scraping bottom,
Conjures past life as alchemist,
Or village shaman, at least,
For magix afoot within these pans.

Chopping, dicing, the best way known
For each vegetable, so lay it down
Put them in as they come ready
Each in turn, never early or late.

All entrees done, side dishes, too,
Just in time for each other's end
The only thing left, cleaning up,
Is worth the pure joy in the meal.
