Patriarchy

by Brigitte   Mar 12, 2010

Words spewed under a veil of silence
The spoiled dreams from an act of violence

The fruits of the beholder bear no shame
The soiled kerchiefs that fall from a lover's blame

Purity crumbles within the palms of disgrace
The loyal murmur accompanied by an icy embrace

The precious ribbons weep ripped and tattered
Like the arms of thy lady they lay battered

Here within the eyes of thy God and Lady
A guarded present that will never matter
