Away from him

by Emily Strickland   Mar 19, 2010

I can feel the waves of tears crashing.
The sound of my heartbeat pounding.
Your smell still lingers in the air,
oh what I wouldn't give to be up there.
Because here isn't where I belong.
I'm not myself whenever your gone.
These miles, highways, and towns are in the way.
So many reasons I wish you could stay.
Because long distance is never easy
but loving you is worth it, believe me.
The second I watch you get in the car to go,
I start to miss you more than you could ever know.
I'll count the minutes and days till you return.
In the meantime my heart continues to yearn
for your kiss, smile, and touch.
This is how it feels to miss you so much.
