Crying in a Desert

by Adelaide   Mar 26, 2010

Tears pour from my eyes;
they plummet in the desert sand.
Drops of of emotional rain downpour;
dripping slowly, they die on impact.
The desert is no place for tears;
Evaporation erases
and dries away traces
of pain.
I no longer cry in the desert;
each grain of sand was once a tear drop.
They are tiny graves representing extinction of
my tears.
