Misleading Photo

by VeinsofHate   May 11, 2010

Pictures can be misleading
Although our smiles are so bright
But you don't hear the yelling and shit
Every time they fight

We may laugh and giggle
We may cry and hug
But all of our problems
Are hidden under the rug

We may play a happy family
And be better than the rest
But we are far from it
Way far from the best

We are really good actors
With every move we make
But the truth is deep down
We're all so very fake

We're not a happy family
We're not a laughing bunch
We can barely stop fighting
We even fight during lunch

But the photo hanging on the wall
Misleads every person that walks by
Into think we're a happy family
When in fact it's all a lie

I like this and I can even relate to it to an extent. My family will smile for the outside world, but on the inside we can't even all be in the same building at the same time. We never have probably never will. I see your point and it is cool that someone could be so honest. It is extreamly good. (ignore my spelling, Please)

I can relate soooo much to this poem. My family is the same way, everyone thinks we are like the perfect family but we really can't stand each other. Its very well written, I can feel the anger and hurt behind it. Just know ur not alone. and ty for taking the time to read my work, it means a lot to me. 5/5.

I liked the honesty in your poem. It's very easy to put a smile on for the camera but the truth lies behind closed doors and very few get a glimpse inside the reality of what goes on there.
