If Only You Knew

by Beauty Within These Pages of Darkness   May 12, 2010

That's right
As soon as trouble stirs
You up and run
You claim to be a brother
Instead though you run to
Your part time lover

I can't handle it
I can't handle it
Is what you'd tell her
I don't want to go back there
It was all just a blur

Tell you something
Never come back to me
Remember how you treated me
Because of you
I'm not who I used to be
I've changed
I'm distant
I no longer feel free
Even the few friends I've got left
Would agree on the fact that
I'm not who I used to be

Why am I to blame?
For something you didn't follow through
I remember where I was when I told you
I told you what we needed to do
Why can't you remember that?

So what you going to do
What you going to say
That it was my entire fault
And now it's my turn to pay
Contact me and explain it properly
What do you say??

You may think I got a better deal
But because of what was said
My emotional wounds will ever heal
As much as I would like them to
They will never be sealed

You may laugh and joke
Thinking it was just a game
But because of what happened
I will never be the same

Tell you something
Never come back to me
Remember how you treated me
Because of you
I'm not who I used to be
I've changed
I'm secluded
I no longer feel free
Even the few friends I've got left
Would agree on the fact that
I'm not who I used to be
