Dear Mama

by Beauty Within These Pages of Darkness   May 12, 2010

I know I haven't been
The best son in the world
But by writing this
The plan is to show you
That I understand
You are appreciated

When I was sick as a little child
To keep me happy
There were no limits to the things you did
My childhood memories
Are full of the sweet things you did for me

Dear mama
Don't you know I love you?
Although I'm far away
I just want you to know
That I love you
Dear mama

I appreciate how you raised me
And all the love that you gave to me
I wish I could take the pain I caused away
But I want you to know that
In my heart you will always stay

You were there for me
When I was younger
Where was my father?
I'm starting to feel no love for him
Because the cowardly stranger wasn't there

Dear mama
Don't you know I love you?
Although I'm far away
I just want you to know
That I love you
Dear mama

I know I haven't been
The best son in the world
But by writing this
The plan is to show you
That I understand
You are appreciated
