They Say

They say, "Everything happens for a reason",
But I find this hard to believe.
What reason could you possibly have,
To break the heart I had placed on my sleeve?

They say, "Forgive and forget",
But forgetting is something I could never do.
I can forgive you for the mistakes you have made,
But I'll never forget all the shit you put me through.

They say, "Good things come to those who wait",
But I have been waiting my life away.
Hoping for that one moment where everything changes,
I keep wishing that day was today.

They say, "You can't change your past"
But if I had the chance to re-live one day,
I'd go back to when I first met you.
And I'd say to myself, "Turn around and walk away!"

    Wow this is a really nice and sad poem. i like the way you wrote this poem, cuz you put the situations in order. kinda like reminds me of this one guy in the past. but yeah, keep on writing more of these sad poems aight!!

    A deep and sad poem. The word play in every stanza fixed a motive, I liked the use you put to it.
    The words you used were a bit shallow and low leveled, the curse you put there ruined the flow a bit.
    The sentence I'd go back to the when I first met you is better put: I'd go back to when I first met you.
