An Addict's Remorse

by Alex D   Jun 2, 2010

It seemed nothing but a bad dream
Take another hit just to blow off steam
Family and friends a fading memory
A vision I cherish barely flickering
Take another hit to mask the pain
Squeeze tight and puncture the vein
Lay back till I slowly lose track of all around me
Wondering how to forget these daunting memories
In a haze, I start asking why I lost it all
A wife, A kid, I was standing ten feet tall
How did I succumb to loss and continuing loneliness
How did I become someone who no one will miss
