If I knew the last I saw you
Was the last time that we'd share
I would have hugged you tighter
Showed you just how much I care

^^ Incredible way to start your poem I just loved that!
This poem is just too sad for me :( Although well written, it just hurts my heart because these feelings are sooo terrible to go through. Losing a loved one is so hard to get through! I love your work! I'm glad to start catching up on my poetry reading!

You have penned a very heart breaking piece.

Sadly all that I have lost
    Can never be retrieved
Time I could have spent with you
    Before you had to leave

I know these feelings very well. Sometimes we don't get the chance to know someone we care for will be gone the next day. She knew you cared about her. She knows now also and sees the love and impact she had on the friends she left behind.

    Best to capture moments
    While loved ones still remain
Than look back with a grieving heart
    Filled with anguished pain

It is best to capture the moments while those we love are still here. I wish i had the capability to go and spend time with my family and friends. I try my best with my phone. When I have a visit from someone it means the world to me.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.
    I love you sis

Such a great message here. We all live busy lives and just expect our loved ones to be around when we have time to fit them in. Sadly, it's sometimes too late to do this.

This made me stop and think about what's really important in my life so, I thank you for that.

    Hello Debbie,

I picked this poem to read at random, and how fitting it seems at this time.
I can see by Cindy's comment that it is about a lost friend, so a belated sorry for that.
The poem itself is covered in truth we should all take something from: cherish those we love while they are with us and don't wait until they are gone.
A lovely flow heightened by the seamless rhyming.
All the very best and stay well,
    Ben

It is so true Ben. We always assume we have tomorrow to make a visit to see a parent, call a friend, check on an elderly neighbor...Illness and death can strike anyone, anytime

    Debbylyn,

This piece is so saddening and truthful we shouldn't take for granted the 'Tomorrows' we have because sometimes they just don't come around.
Yeah if your mad get mad but don't stay mad etc live for today.

    Lovely write, Em
