Waves of Exaltation

by BREEawNUHH   Jul 10, 2010

Dark melodies drift where I lay,
I find myself in a state of dismay.
The rain is coming down hard now,
ignore it, my heart simply won't allow.

Waves of exaltation wash over my still body,
as I lay motionless with no one around but me.
Thunder crashes loudly against my lonely soul,
as the fluorescent lightning begins to take its toll.

A cold breeze is wafting through the air in here,
my skin starts to tighten up, almost in fear.
I wait ever-so-patiently to be welcomed into the sun,
patience can only last so long, the dreadful storm has won.

    BEAU-TI-FUL!
    I disagree with whomever gave this a 4, definitely deserves a 5!

"Dark melodies drift where I lay,
I find myself in a state of dismay"
    - lovely start to the piece. 'dark melodies' i really like that!

I really liked your title as well "Waves of Exaltation". mmm!

"patience can only last so long, the dreadful storm has won."
    - true! even though they say patience is a virtue, but cant expect us to wait too long!

    short, good read, well done!

i also liked how the piece kind of started out short, and then as the poem progressed your lines were more drawn out, and it was kind of making me catch my breathe! weew
