My Love is a Lighthouse

by The Undoing   Aug 16, 2010

My love is a lighthouse
Lost in a sea
Patiently waiting
For your return to me.
My love is a lighthouse
Stuck in a time
Rapped by the ocean
With my hope held sublime.
My love is a lighthouse
Desolate, free
Exposed to judgment
Constructed by debris.
My love is a lighthouse
Now fading light
Thrown into darkness
No flame to ignite.

Usually i dont like repetition in poems because it gets tired and takes away from the sentiment in the piece, but for this you have done a good job of not making it feel quite so draggy or as in some annoying even. The piece is well written and the emotion is well formed. Nice job.

A good poem, never heard of love being referred to as a lighthouse. 5/5
