In The Shadow Of The Heartbreak.

With the pieces of my heart,
I put myself back together.
From then on I swore I'd never fall in love again,
Not with anyone else, not ever.

Scars formed over the cracks
That were left behind,
Painful memories now hold onto me,
In this eternal bind.

Inner wounds move
To surface as I try to cope.
In time I give in,
Ready to tie the noose to my throat.

Left alone to fight away
The cold feeling encasing me.
Frigid numbness takes its toll,
Thinking I'll never be free.

Calander pages fall away,
The ticking of the clock, so slow.
Everyone else is moving forward
And I have no where to go.

But in the shadow of the heartbreak,
Light comes around.
I begin to believe that in those arms,
Revival can be found.

Perhaps this is where I can start
To finally breath normally,
It's been so long since this
Since I've let anyone love me.

But this is turning out to be just like the last,
Splitting heart.
I'm not going to hand myself over to you,
Not even a single part.

Because why should I be all yours,
When you cant be all mine.
And again I'm left as the second option,
Just missed the line.

Never quite right,
Or quite enough to be the only one.
Another heartbreak, after this one,
