Afflatus

I thought I heard a cuckoo today
Chanting gaily a morning psalm
Neath a cloudy sky, through sheets of hail
I beheld my dawning, bright and calm.

I thought I saw a twinkling star
This eve of darkness and of gloom
And lo, my path was there belayed
Coursing away from eternal doom.

I thought and thought, not saw, nor heard
The ways redemption would be mine
For, the elating song and guiding stars
In my conscience I enshrine.

I must thank BC for noticing me.

It is very heartening to know that not making sense to most of the world most of the time is actually not a crime. It pays.

And thanks are due to all of you who took time to go through my wild ramblings. :)

    This is really beautiful:)

I loved the last stanza most, the redemption part. Somehow we so long for that..if only we would realize it is just human to make mistakes and we are always forgiven by our Creator.

    Beautiful poem, well done.

I love the whole piece, I thought the flow was spot on and really my only complaint is that it's not longer lol I will have to take the time to check out some more of your work. Great job and definitely deserving of a nomination.
