When A Body Needs A Soul

by Sunshine   Nov 2, 2010

Wandering along the shores
of a wishful sea,
holding her hands tightly.
Recalling old dreams;
until the madness of each wave
destroyed his life completely.

He tried - yes he tried,
and still I saw him trying,
as he felt like losing her

but sorry; she has already Left

I saw tears dripping,
like a passionate waterfall -
deep within the loss of his eyes,
promising the slow beats
of his needy heart,
not to burn him deeper.

not to throb any longer.

And I caught the unspoken
hums of his lips whispering
patience for the pain of his silent dark.
As they compete to be, what she once was;

the inspiration of his words.

Forcing the eager of his thoughts about
her angelic face, not to arise further more.
He stopped searching for her lively ghost
stopped hunting her shadows..
stopped following her untrustworthy steps.
Nevertheless failed to reach her

Alas time stole more of his years
as he lost his entire soul
where duress stomped hardly upon
his helpless heart
Now like a dead man standing under the tree
where he once used to wait for her passionately .

I glimpse him stripping the leaves
of disowned roses.
ones he planted, and she forgot to take!

Still he waits , lifeless
for her return..
In hope that her madness would be
riding one of these waves-
that once destroyed his life

Or that her face would ever
fall over these wishful shores-
that he still measures..
Since his body badly needs it's Soul..

----
this is about someone who SUDDENLY lost contact with someone who used to be too close.
Be ignorant about the tone used, this is not about a male waiting for the girl he loved. I only switched characters on purpose.

    Nana,

I once read a quote by a woman who wished her love to be free, even of her..and I slowly begin to understand her words..love can keep a heart hostage and it can make a person a slave. I often feel I should not want my significant other to love me back, but for him to be free and not feel the pain that love always brings.

Well written, it made the tears flow freely upon my tired face.

You do so well, sweetie pie

    Love you

WOW nana, what a lovely beginning to this piece. "wishful seas" - so beautiful! Very tender word choice.

    He tried, yes he tried,

still I saw him trying,

- I think the repetition fitted very well here, creating a nice effect. Emphasising 'try' also shows just how much he tried. Lovely!

'tears dripping like a passionate waterfall'
-SO BEAUTIFUL NANA!! very vivid images! Infact, i loved that entire stanza!

"time stole more of his years
as he lost his entire soul'"
    - i reallly like this line! So sad, yet so beautifully put together.

    "were duress stomped hardly upon"
    - where

Wow nana, beautiful beautiful work! Every bit of this was so heart breaking and sad. A very passionate write, and I just LOVE the ending. Amazing work!
