I Carry Your Heart--collab with Nana

by Jad   Nov 16, 2010

A thousand words fail me,
unable to overcome the agony,
knowing you keep me alive each day.
Though you no longer exist,
my heart pulsates lasting love in each beat.

Tears overwhelm my eyes as
memories approach me toward "you";
for you have lingered colors to my old paling life.

With a brighter future that's
unfolding without your warm embrace.
So daily like the few past days
I replay sorrowful images through my mind,
as I sit clenching your memory.

Drenched with love,
that revive each single moment I breathe
while living "your" life, yet in "my" shoes.

Waking up as the delicate rays of
the gold sun crawls upon my skin
where I see your face,
outside my window pierced amid
the clear blue.

Sniffing the fresh air that you can no longer inhale.
I sense your fragrance as I close my eyes.
Yes I feel you too.

Now forevermore at sunrise
I awake to the sound of your voice,
though you're gone but you still live on inside me.

This almost made me want to bring out my box of tissues and cry. Very beautiful, very sad piece. A well crafted write.

    - these two lines are just perfect.

This poem magnifies the fine line between the literal heart and the abstract so beautifully

A collab is tough, two minds, different thoughts and ideas but I think this was done fairly well, a little ragged in spots and didn't blend as easily as it could have, but over all I thought it was a nice piece of work

I absolutely LOVE this movie, what an interesting poem. I now want to go out & buy the movie so I can watch it again. Its amazing the lives he touched in that movie...especially being strangers to him. This poem was so full of emotion - you both did a wonderful job. I loved the inspiration.

After the changes, the flow is good, the lines all fit together for me personally. I hope others feel the same way because it is a very good representation of the idea for the poem, full of emotion and feelings one might have under the circumstances.
