In Memory of Daydreams

by Darien   Dec 1, 2010

In Memory of Daydreams

She walked into the room and all went silent
Eyes gazed upon her charming young figure
Her slight grin grew into a full flourished smile
And in the blink of an eye she disappeared

Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming
Not knowing where my setting will be
Meeting people that may never exist
Where the impossible is always defied

She made her way across the crowded floor
A sea of people parted but I stood still
Her eyes were poised and fixed on mine
I was nervous but she never hesitated

Sometimes my daydreams get carried away
And I end up far from where I first left off
But this one was special, I could feel it
As if it were a memory I would dwell upon

She kissed my cheek ever so slightly
I could feel my heart gradually racing
My breathing staggers as I close my eyes
When they open again she is still there

Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming
Playing this scene over and over again
Sometimes my daydreams get carried away
But I keep this one in my memories

Hey Darien. Wow, you are brilliant as ever. Sorry I have read this only now. Yeah the transition from present to daydream is so great it took me back and forth too.

Wow this was beautiful. I love the transition from the daydream/memory to the present thoughts. I could feel myself in your words which is hard to do. Has to be one of my faves I've read in a while. I really need to get back into read.
