Lost in Myself

by Jad   Dec 14, 2010

A reflection of faces shattered,
resembles pieces of life
lost in depths of sorrow,
unknown,
yet clinging to the edge of nothing
I await to alas lose all strength.

Losing will power, I submit
to the agony residing
inside the walls of illusion, which
I, myself
have created to pretend a sanctuary;
pretend I will find a way.

Still I cling in desperation
hoping one day this will end,
presenting a release from within
myself.
Until then, though, I'm lost in solitude~
the insanity of mind, which has become me.

This was my favorite part of the poem, I can relate to this part. Fortunately, there is always a way out. :)

So much sadness and lonliness in this piece. There are so many feelings I can relate to.

    Still I cling in desperation
hoping one day this will end,
    presenting a release from within
    myself.
Until then, though, I'm lost in solitude~
the insanity of mind, which has become me.

Loved the ending stanza. The hope of these feelings ending one day.
    Take care

Probably one of your strongest poems I've read to date, however I wasn't much of a fan with all the punctuation & some of the words being repeated, after the first stanza I found myself getting a bit caught up in it and it became distracting...but you expressed yourself in such a creative way, you did a great job.

    ^^ powerful imagery there...

//the insanity of mind, which has become me/ that summarizes all...
    well expressed.
