Best Laid Plans

by Inside the Liar   Dec 20, 2010

Best laid plans are often found
hidden and cowering
inside dresser drawers cluttered
with repressed ambition and
lost senses of hope.

They lay in wait, tensing
with excitement each time
the drawer is pulled out to
see the dawn of florescent light.
They wither away with each
closing.

Time, that which is usually
a helping hand, is the foe
when it comes to carrying out
these best laid plans.
They fade a little with each day
growing dimmer and dimmer
until they become

Nothing
but a memory,
ignored, misplaced, and vanquished.
