Foolish Girl

by dandy   Dec 21, 2010

Foolish girl, what's happened now?
Those tears are fierce and fresh.
You fell for him and let him take
your logic, wits and breath.

He says he loves you still,
yet here you stand alone.
Foolish girl that's what you get
for making yourself so prone.

Tisk tisk tisk you foolish girl,
look at that puffy face.
You went too fast and fell in love,
again finished in second place.

You love with all you have,
but for him it wasn't enough.
Too much baggage, this he claims,
is the reason for his rebuff.

Broken mirror on the wall,
Cinderella tried and failed.
Never got her glass slipper back,
'cause Prince Charming aint no fairy tale.

Stupid girl, he's not the one,
now heal and let him go.
Your heart's on the floor and your mind's angry,
saying "Foolish girl, I told you so!"

You are never second place, or second rate. You will always be first class, first choice in my heart. Good luck in all that you do...
