Appreciate Me.

I thought you were different than the other guys. I thought you were deeper, that you really saw me. And not just with your eyes.

The way you spoke. The person you were. Like sunshine in the winter. I thought you were unique. You promised me you were different. That wasnt a promise you could keep.

You had a lot going for you. Your act was so believable. The thought of you playing me was inconceivable. When you were with me, it felt like you wanted to be. I wore my heart on my sleeve. I told you how I felt. But I was blind and naive.

You were the first thought in my mind when I woke up and the last before I fell asleep. What I felt for you wasnt just skin-deep. But you took me for granted. And now Im done crying. Youre not going be breaking my heart anymore. Youre the past and Im looking forward.

My heart hurts because I now know the truth and I know what I need to do. In the time weve had, youve become a part of me. But since Ive known you, my heart has been slowly breaking.

If you cared for me, you wouldnt have put me through this. Ill never forget you. But you wont be missed. Its going to be hard, but I need to do whats best for me. Youre not in the direction that Im heading. Maybe you should have appreciated me.
