A Lemming took a detour

by Ronald Edwards   Jan 13, 2011

Together and in unison
just like an oceans wave,
he watched and saw what others did
causing them to behave.

Over hill, past monuments,
across a great green lawn,
no obstacle would hinder them
they could not be withdrawn.

Decisions made by mass appeal,
in numbers sweet allure,
did not affect this lone Lemming
he took a quick detour.

Their he stood upon a rock
as others hurried by,
most tumbling head over heals
he drew a heavy sigh.

He then did hop
from off the rock
and scurried on his way,

while thanking God
that he could see
the bridge was out that day.
