Hearts That Scab

by Jenna   Jan 24, 2011

Memories linger here
In the depths of my mind,
And although I try to let them go
They still come back for my thoughts to find.

I suppose a wound so deep
Can only heal so much,
Leaving a painful looking mark,
So rough and uneven to the touch.

The places my heart has been too,
You'll never begin to believe;
Through rough travel causing cracks and dents
The more scars I have received.

Though I mask my broken soul
With my make-up called a smile;
And sometimes when I'm angry,
I wish I could give you my shoes
And make you go walk a mile.

I suppose we all have emotional scars,
That never heal completely even.
Always reopening each wound
For some unnecessary reason.

    An amzing write. I really liked reading this. It was so emotional

    "I suppose a wound so deep
    Can only heal so much,
    Leaving a painful looking mark,
    So rough and uneven to the touch".
