What comes from within the soul

by A lonely soul   Jan 25, 2011

A man can only fancy
what his eyes will see
or his hand can feel
but can he really see or feel
what a soul can envisage
that neither the eyes or hands will ever see or feel

Art is to many, a mere brush stroke
to some it is an expression of thought
But to the artist it is
a creation of his imagination
sometimes from deep within his soul

What may sound like a baby's giggle
a simple chuckle from one who is happy
some may hear it as coming from a beautiful heart
It is like music to it's mothers ears
coming from her baby's soul

Some believe in him, others see, read or hear his word
in a church, synagogue, mosque or temple
but can really anyone unite with him in their afterlife
unless they can find him in this lifetime within their soul

While some struggle to reach it
and others spend a lifetime to find it
each soul can find the "truth"
by simply searching deep within himself

For some who cannot appreciate it
because their lips are sealed
For those who can, but find their mouth shut tight
A true smile is from within the soul
may or may not be seen
by those who can or cannot cherish it

Some say a thousand words to express it
others fake it with a brightly lit face and
grandiose promises of everlasting love, easily forgotten
Many seem to simply feel it deeply in their hearts
but only a rare few, find it deep within their soul

Words come from our lips
those that most of us can read, write or hear
but Poetry is from the heart
let out as a free voice of the soul
trapped in for too long in shackles of politeness

Lucky are a few
who have the fire in their heart
and a desire within their mind
to reach out and touch someone
from deep within their soul

I got to stop now
cause the pen is dry
the hand weak and shaky
the eyes dreary and weary
though the heart is still beating strong
like a colt ready to run a race
but the soul is tired, ready to retire

(Dedicated to all those soul's who have tried to reach someone else's soul in some unselfish way, in pursuit of providing them an experience of true happiness amongst the daily stresses of life.)

Annotation: This poem has "soul" as a seeming repetition to the reader (was italicised originally), but that is exactly where the dedication is, to the "soul" in all its purity.... and more. So if you find the play of words a little strange, read it a 2nd or 3rd time, perhaps you will see my visualization of the innocence and purity in the "soul" when I penned this one from my soul.

Whtevr we see, touch, feel is up to d core..
Like a painting is a whole world for its creator..bt fr us its js an art.
A baby's giggle is most soothing sound fr a mothr,bt to rest its js a sweet voice.
We spend time in temples to find creator ,instead of becoming one.
Bt Its in us ,the truth, the love and hapines and othr positivity.
And wen find that truth in ur soul ,then u strt to understnd the voice of others..
Then only u wil be able to cherish a true smile and a pure heart..

I agree with the two comments above, but I wish to take them into more detail. Your voice and your soul are very clear, they seem calm and friendly. The poem states that a soul shall unselfishly reach out and touch another soul, well to write this I think it is safe to say mark this off your to do list. The tone of this is uplifting and refreshing among a lot of the pieces people have been writing lately. The word choice is simple yet it is used in such a way that it becomes superb. All of the creativity that you have penned is breath taking. Thank you for writing such an extraordinary piece.

This only made me smile, so it must be worth a 5/5 and if it's not then please, do tell me, what is?
